Who We Are

Bob is a scientist and Elizabeth is a designer. Bob’s 96-year-old mother passed away in April 2020 after contracting COVID-19 in her nursing home. Elizabeth’s mother then celebrated her 80th birthday that same week in April.

Due to the pandemic, Bob and Elizabeth were unable to gather with their family members and friends to celebrate their mothers. They brought their skills together - Bob surveying family members, Elizabeth designing the portraits - to create a word portrait for each of their mothers. Friends and family members’ response to the word portraits was overwhelming; they loved them.

It was then that Bob and Elizabeth decided to create shozoga.com to help other people show appreciation for significant people in their lives. Shozogas are a way for you to create unique, meaningful portraits that show and tell them how important they are.
